Utility Assistant Privacy Policy

Utility Assistant is provided by Small Tech Stack LLC. This policy explains what information the app handles, how it is used, and what choices you have.

Information You Enter

Utility Assistant stores information you choose to add to the app, including:

This information is used to organize your utility history, calculate usage and cost trends, show charts, and generate insights about bills, weather, meter readings, and recurring charges.

Weather Data

If you enter a ZIP code, Utility Assistant may use it to look up weather data for that service location. The app sends the ZIP code to Open-Meteo's geocoding service to estimate latitude, longitude, and time zone, and then sends those coordinates and date ranges to Open-Meteo to retrieve historical weather information.

Weather data is used to calculate temperature, heating degree days, and cooling degree days so the app can help explain utility usage and cost changes.

Open-Meteo is a third-party weather service. Small Tech Stack LLC does not control Open-Meteo's privacy practices.

iCloud Sync

Utility Assistant uses Apple's private CloudKit database to sync app data between your devices when iCloud is available for your Apple Account. This sync is provided by Apple through your iCloud account.

Small Tech Stack LLC does not operate a separate account system forUtility Assistant and does not provide its own server for storing your utility bills.

Feedback Emails

The Help screen includes links to request features or report bugs by email. If you choose to send feedback, the email is addressed tofeedback@smalltechstack.com and may include app diagnostic context such as:

Email is optional. Do not include utility account numbers, passwords, payment information, or other sensitive details unless you intentionally choose to share them.

Data We Do Not Use

Utility Assistant does not use your data for third-party advertising. Utility Assistantdoes not sell your personal information. Utility Assistant does not use your data to track you across apps or websites owned by other companies.

Utility Assistant may share limited information only as needed to provide app functionality:

Data Storage and Retention

Utility Assistant stores app data on your device and, when iCloud sync is available, in your private iCloud database. Data remains there until you edit it, delete it, replace it through an import, remove the app and its data, or manage it through Apple's iCloud settings.

The app also lets you export and import your data. Export files are controlled by you and may contain your utility history, locations, providers, bills, timeline events, meter readings, and weather data.

Utility Assistant is not directed to children. The app is intended for people managing household or property utility information.

Changes

Small Tech Stack LLC may update this policy as Utility Assistant changes. If the app's data practices materially change, this policy should be updated before or at the time those changes are released.
